It has been quite the day and it's only half way!
In Form and Meaning we studied Aaron Copland, whom I didn't know I loved so much! His Fanfare of the Common Man was written as a morale booster during World War II and is now used as a military recruit I think :)
Plus his Variations on a Shaker Hymn, Variation #7, a ballet, is just really pretty and well known. Apparently it was written in celebration of an American pioneer completing his PA farmhouse in the 1800's. Sad that the others in the variation got lost.
Oh and we listened to Rhapsody in Blue: An Experiment in Modern Music and boy did it remind me of Grandpa, he loved show tunes! So basically I'm likin' the Modernist music well, they had their rough spot with Ives but after that, it was delightful!

So a lot of little odds and ends are coming together. I registered for classes and was finally admitted into the education department! Still waiting on my official background check card. Then I started thinking about all the classes I still have to register for and if I should be an RA or not. A quick conversation with mom and a reminder from some very wise people: one day at a time. Plus rejoice in that excitements of today!

The sun is shining after the thunder from this morning. A nice cool breeze. Deliciously soft cookies at lunch and so much more! Praise the Lord! God is good all the time!

It's break time: mountain dew and snack.....and then attack the homework, one more test 'till spring break '10!
