Deep Love
I have recently sung the hymn "How Deep the Father's Love For Us" by Stuart Townend at various churches throughout my quest for a church home in Mississippi. Last Sunday, I really started thinking about the truth and weight of these words, I love them because they are so true.....
"His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished
I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom"
After looking up the author, I remembered that this song also meant a lot to me at the beginning of the school year-my freshman year in college. I remember doing a port de bra exercise in dance class to this song-a remade version-that was so beautiful and peaceful. Coupled with the powerful words and soothing melody, it was such an encouragement. Each time it pops up, I am reminded of the incredible Savior God.
