Deep Love

I have recently sung the hymn "How Deep the Father's Love For Us" by Stuart Townend at various churches throughout my quest for a church home in Mississippi. Last Sunday, I really started thinking about the truth and weight of these words, I love them because they are so true.....

"His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished
I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom"

After looking up the author, I remembered that this song also meant a lot to me at the beginning of the school year-my freshman year in college. I remember doing a port de bra exercise in dance class to this song-a remade version-that was so beautiful and peaceful. Coupled with the powerful words and soothing melody, it was such an encouragement. Each time it pops up, I am reminded of the incredible Savior God.

So Saturday was jam packed with hw :( sad I know but then guys soccer who won in overtime 2-1 against Millsaps, our rival and then hall party at Broadstreet and the first Home football game. BC...You Know! They lost sadly but it wasn't a blow out and the hip hop team was awesome. Our band was pretty good too :) considering it was the first time BC's had one (I think).

So I haven't blogged in a really long time, my apologies...I'm just killin time at the moment, college life, it sure is different!! Yeah and some quotes if I can remember em'... "I like your partnering, your dancing not so much but we can fix that" "Wherever you stand claim it for Christ." "If you don't do what you are called to do, people will miss out!" Ephesians 3:20 There's been a whole lot more that I've loved but I can't remember them all at the moment. Anyway, it's finally been a beautiful sunny day in Mississippi and I just loved it...what a blessing!

"Oh, how He loves you and me,
Oh, how He loves you and me.
He gave His life, what more could He give;
Oh, how He loves you, Oh, how He loves me,
Oh, how He loves you and me.

Jesus to Calv'ry did go,
His love for mankind to show.
What He did there brought hope from despair.
Oh, how He loves you, Oh, how He loves me,
Oh how He loves you and me.

Oh, how He loves you and me,
Oh, how He loves you and me.
He gave His life, what more could He give;
Oh, how He loves you, Oh, how He loves me,
Oh, how He loves you and me."

Summertime...

Friday, July 04, 2008

Happy 4th of July!!! After a week of no internet and one trip yesterday to the Atlanta Bread Company to check my email and various other things online, we officially have internet at home!! Due to an electrical storm that fried the box we have been deprived for a week. Ok, deprived is not a good word. We have been without would be more fitting. Especially since we are grateful there were no fires at or near our home sparked by the lightning-there were at least three in the area. Weather sure proves God's incredibleness! Anyway enjoy family and USA-what a blessing!

Happy Father's Day!!! We love you daddy!

Upon asking a little boy if he found Jesus he replied, "I didn't know he was lost but yes I have him in my heart."-quote from the sermon on Sunday.... you are chosen, you are adopted, and you are accepted!

You gotta love a rainy summer afternoon and crafting, there's nothin' like it. Or a good book that you gotta get the sequel too. A great movie at home w/ the fam. or a night out at the movie theater and you walk out into a summer evening. Ya gotta love the South!

Graduation...Check!

Dream Big, let God work, and your dreams will come true!
The world is waiting to see what you can do (WHAT GOD CAN DO THROUGH YOU)!
Pretty encouraging that God's in the business of making something little big....

Elijah heard a word from the Lord: I think I hear rain...(after a drought 0f 3 yrs)
Go look for it (Elijah bends down and puts face beneath his knees:prays)

Nothin.
Nothin.
Nope.
Nothing.
Nada.
Nothin.
There's a little cloud.

There's my rain.

To top it all off God lets Elijah out run King Ahab's chariot, which had a head start.

Incredible, check it out in 1 Kings 18...18:41-46

Junior Senior

The twenties were a riot on Fiday night at Embassy Suits where we had our "prom". We enjoyed a chicken and cream sauce w/ veggies and a chocolate cake that was very very chocolate! The entertainment suited our class as we watched a football commentary mixed w/ spoofs on our class. Sarah and I tried to be "bad" w/ the bandanas but it got stuck so George's Company was going to sue for us....Sean's chess and tea pot video was the best followed by the chearleading skit about Merryn and Jordyn. We went bowling afterwards and yes, my nails did glow in the dark, I was super excited! It was quite a night!

So again its been a long time but....Sr. Trip has come and gone and so has Spring Break both were fun, the Sr. Trip was incredibly busy but of course memorable. Spring Break was a blessing both for relaxing and getting a couple extra hours at work in. I finished my D.C. scrapbook for school early but here's some pics that were great, but didn't make it in, thanks to Michelle for putting them on cd for me and here's to another 6 weeks or so of BL life!

p.s. our A.P. English class is emersing ourselves in Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde-classic! Great writing! And yes we did go to the ESPN bar and sports grill! Be proud!

So it's been a long time, but...

Spring Break and Sr. Trip are nearing....

Jr. Sr. Invitation Day was Thurs which means Jr./Sr. is soon....

Which means graduation is nearlly upon us!!! Ahh, so exciting.

At BL graduation is a huge deal and we do all kinds of crazy stuff like Sr. Recital, Sr. Candle Light Service, Jr./Sr., Sr. Trip, Invitation Day, no school basically last week, etc. so exciting and sad. Bittersweet b/c I fear by the time you feel like you've really gotten to know and enjoy your class you all leave. But not to dwell on the sad, enjoy the memories of the special moments. So here's a pic of the beginning of the end i.e. invitation day. By the way some crazy weather here in the South steady rain most of day yesterday and today incredible strong wind, thought my window would blow in lol, but I think I'm safe. Anyway, until next time...

"Get out of the pew and into the trenches!"- Pastor Schneck

"Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: 'If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it.' "
-Mark 8:34-35

Remember

" 'Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.' "
-Deuteronomy 31:6

Beautiful spring-like day on January 6, 2008-Blessings
